Situated on a working farm on the edge of Chatteris in Cambridgeshire, we offer Foundation Riding sessions.
Our aim is to coach our riders from the very beginning to their first canter. Good initial training in the early stages of riding are crucial for ensuring riders are, safe, effective and have a great foundation on which to progress.
Our private riding sessions ensure you have a safe, fun-filled learning experience which develops riding skills, horsemanship skills and gives you a great sense of achievement. Our riding sessions are taken at our riders pace, we don't push, rush or ask them to do anything they aren't capable or comfortable of doing.
Private Riding sessions take place in our well maintained grass arena or out on one of our wonderfully quiet farm tracks, for riders aged 5 years+.
Grass Arena
Hacking!
This option is for all riders from the age of 5 years old upwards.
These sessions take place either on our grass arena or one of our farm hacking routes. Both options are an instructional 30 minutes of riding and riders will progress through the required range of skills to become competent riders.
This option is for our younger riders, or for those who would like a taster session and are for riders age 5 years old upwards.
This is a 30 minute session and we will spend some time grooming and making friends with your pony before heading out for a ride.
Children are escorted by their Instructor and the Pony kept on a lead rein to ensure our Riders safety. These sessions are a fantastic introduction to ponies and great for the younger riders who may find a 30 min riding session too long or too intensive.
This option is perfect for those who would like a longer session.
This is similar to our 30 minute Groom and Ride, however, this option does include a longer riding session.
Some time will be spent grooming and making friends with your pony before we tack up and head out for our ride. Hat hire is included in this option.
Please note - A decision will be made on the day by your Instructor with regard to either an arena lesson or a hack. This will be dependant upon the ground and weather conditions and in the interest of Rider and Pony safety. Should you be hacking, your Instructor will go on foot until you are suitably experienced for your Instructor to ride alongside you on horseback.
Our teaching style ensures our sessions are positive, fun and safe. We pride ourselves on ensuring our riders learn and maintain a correct and effective riding style and position from the very beginning.
Correct, functional riding is imperative for effective and clear communication between the Rider and pony and allows the rider to correctly apply the aids required to ask the horse to carry out the requests we make!
Correct position, good balance and clear aids = A happy to oblige Pony!
